Nick Tyre

Nick grew up in the North Carolina piedmont surrounded by agriculture. After learning about the impacts of sustainable livestock practices at George Washington University, he returned home to work as the Livestock Manager at Pine Trough Branch Farm. Alongside raising animals, Nick worked as the Farm Funding Advisor at FarmRaise, a startup building farm management tools for small farms. He built a database of funding opportunities including EQIP grants, working land easements, and non-USDA grants/loans, while advising farmers on the application process.

As a former National Young Farmers Coalition fellow and founding member of the North Carolina Food System Advocacy Coalition, he’s lobbied in DC and NC on behalf of farmers, ecological farming practices, and environmental justice. His work is driven by a love for food, and he's always down to talk about new ingredients, recipes, or what you had for lunch.
