Julie Miller

Livestock Manager

Julie grew up in Pennsylvania, always feeling a strong bond with both animals and the outdoors. After teaching and traveling out west and abroad, she was initially drawn to farming through a growing awareness of her own food sources and current food systems. She began her agricultural journey with a livestock apprenticeship at Carversville Farm Foundation, where she was introduced to regenerative practices and food justice initiatives. Delving next into dairy work, she managed a goat herd at an educational farm, reconnecting to teaching and community programming. For three years she managed Q Farms, a regenerative multi-species livestock operation, focusing on ruminants and pasture management. Creating deep connections with livestock and the land continues to provide a daily sense of awe. At Sky High, she looks forward to sharing this reverence with the fellows that will join each season, and channeling this energy to nurture the farm and nourish the community.
