Building Circle is a small cooperative company and also a political project.
"We build things and teach others how to build, while also more broadly cultivating a world where everyone takes care of each other. Our construction jobs range from fixing leaky faucets to building whole houses. One of the biggest problems currently facing Rhode Island is an ongoing housing crisis. Rents have doubled over the past ten years while income has stayed the same. Our group has committed to the long and slow process of creating affordable housing land trusts for people to live in Rhode Island that could last far into the future."
This grant supports a community of farmers in their journey of stewarding land uninhibited by access, teaching building skills and creating more housing.
