Matt Peterson

My name is Matt Peterson – Matty P for short. I was born and raised in New Britain, CT, (Hard Hittin’) attended college in Boston, MA, and ultimately began my farming journey in 2019 on a large apple orchard in central CT. My experience there opened my eyes to the intricacies and pitfalls of our modern food system in the U.S. while also fostering passions for composting, soil health, and gardening. A deep curiosity in holistic, regenerative agricultural systems landed me here at Sky High Farm where I continue to discover and nurture new love for nature and sustainability. Although growing my own fruit and vegetables was the catalyst behind my desire to farm, my new experience with livestock–especially cattle–has opened my eyes even further to the deep circularity of agricultural systems and inspired a profound love for all things animal. Avid lover of hiking, biking, fishing, camping, & all things food!
